Scientific American

Insight Cruises has partnered with Scientific American magazine to bring current popular science topics to life in a convention at sea. Each convention becomes a central part of a standard first class cruise. Participation in the convention itself is an extra charge and is optional; which means that you can bring the "non scientific" spouse to just enjoy the cruise. Current offerings include:

Bright Horizons 10 - sail on Holland America's Rotterdam from Rome to Athens October 1 - 13, 2011. In addition to the outstanding itinerary that includes the Black Sea ports of Varna, Odessa, and Yalta enjoy lectures on topics as diverse as cosmology, paleontology, comets, ancient astronomy, evolution and geology. Among the optional pre cruise experiences is a private insiders tour of CERN led by a physicist.
