MacMania

MacWorld is the annual Apple convention attended by Apple users from all over the world. MacMania is a convention at sea with the same focus. Five or six experts from the Apple world join the cruise and offer seminars on many different topics of interest to Mac users. Seminars are scheduled on days at sea, pretty much from morning till night. With this schedule, conference attendees don't miss any of ports of call.

Any convention focuses in great detail on a specific topic. If a couple is thinking to attend a convention and only one of them is interested in the topic, the other is left to sit around the hotel or find their own amusement. In this format the convention goer spends the sea days immersed in the subject but their partner has all of the ship's activities to keep them amused. On the days in port, the couple enjoys the cruise together.

The currently available MacMania cruises are:

MacMania 12 - sailing for 10 nights on Celebrity's Millenium September 9, 2011 from Vancouver to San Diego. In addition to MacMania this cruise offers a great itinerary - two full days on Vancouver Island, a day in Seattle, an overnight in San Francisco and full days in Monterey and Catalina Island. In addition to the convention and the great ship and itinerary, this cruise happens to be a special wine cruise.

MacMania 14 - cruise the Rhine River with AMA Waterways from Amsterdam to Basel April 12 - 19, 2012. In addition to the 7 night cruise there are several optional packages: pre-cruise time in Amsterdam, post-cruise nights in Paris, and a very special private tour of CERN conducted by a physicist.
