Who are we?

My wife Judy and I moved to The Villages in the spring of 2006.  We have been travel agents since 1994.  We came here from South Florida - one of the few people to move north to The Villages.  We were in South Florida for 28 years and we moved there from St. Louis, where we both grew up. We have two children, a 15 year old granddaughter and year old grandson.

Agent qualifications

When you hire an agent whether it is to handle the sale of your house or to plan your next trip, there are certain things that you should look for and expect.

Customer service - our approach is simply to plan every trip as if it were our own.

Experience - ideally an agent will have taken the exact trip they are recommending to you.  As a practical matter  exact experiences are not possible.  We make up for it by spending time in classes offered by travel organizations.  You may notice letters behind our names on our cards - those are the equivalent of degrees offered by accredited travel organizations.  We are constantly participating in courses offered by cruise lines, tour organizations, and destinations so that we can properly represent their products to you.

Support - whether you work in an office like a AAA agent or at home like we do, all agents need an organization in back of them.  A large organization commands more respect from the industry.  Suppliers are more willing to offer extra discounts or other incentives to companies that bring them lots of business.  Our organization is called Oasis - it is quite large and does much of it's business nationally and internationally over the Internet.

Signature - we are Signature Travel agents as a result of our association with Oasis - membership in this group is reserved for top producing agencies nationwide and allows us to offer our clients many special programs and prices.

What is our philosophy?

At Where in the World Travel, our clients are very special. Personal service and attention to detail are the hallmarks of our business. Here are some of the ways we demonstrate that:

We are available 7 days a week, from 9AM to 9 PM. We know that trip planning is frequently done on weekends or evenings (when most storefront agencies are closed).

We really enjoy research and planning. We’re always learning about new and interesting destinations; different or unique tours; or new twists to tried and true locations. We are happy to share this information and our ideas with you – whether you are ready to travel next month, or are just "dreaming" about that trip you would like to take someday.

We want to build relationships with our clients; get to know you, your likes and dislikes, your concerns and wishes, so that we can plan each detail of your travel in order to make every trip you take be another dream come true!.

Our "tag line" is Experience the difference.  We have gained our experience through our own travel experiences and the many training programs we involve ourselves with. Much of our most valuable experience has come from arranging travel for our clients for more than 17 years.

Importance of an agent

In today's world of the Internet, some people have come to the conclusion that the days of needing an agent to help with travel are gone.

For most people that is far from the truth. No matter how good the Internet site is, you can't get the same personal advice that comes from working with an experienced agent.

Best of all, the services of an agent are free to you and, it is not uncommon for an agent to be able to get you a better price than you see on the Internet (not necessarily that "from" price you often see but the "real" price that comes up when you actually enter your  credit card).
